Vocations Prayer:

God our Liberator,
We thank you and praise you
For you are a God who walks with us,
Who knows our struggles,
And who gives us the strength to answer your call.

Revere – Gift of Salvation:

In today’s Gospel, Jesus urges us to value God’s gift of salvation. We receive this gift in so many ways: in the Sacrament of Baptism, God’s Word, the Eucharist and the like. Are we aware that the Spirit is constantly urging us to witness to these divine gifts and also to value our faith more fully?

Thomas of Celano wrote of St. Francis: "In vain does the wicked man persecute one striving after virtue, for the more he is buffeted, the more strongly will he triumph. As someone says, indignity strengthens a generous spirit"
