Prayer Haiku:

Listening to my Lord Turning over all worries Enjoying the peace

God’s Word – “Division”:

In today’s Gospel, Jesus asserts that if we follow His Gospel, we will experience opposition and “division”. The Truth of God’s Word will always challenge our insecurities and self-centeredness through the ways of the secular world of prestige, pride and power. Pray for the grace to live the Gospel at all times.

Do not let any occasion of gaining merit pass without taking care to draw some spiritual profit from it; as, for example, from a sharp word which someone may say to you; from an act of obedience imposed against your will; from an opportunity which may occur to humble yourself, or to practice charity, sweetness, and patience. All of these occasions are gain for you, and you should seek to procure them.

- Saint Ignatius Loyola

Beloved and most holy word of God! You enlighten the hearts of the faithful, you satisfy the hungry, console the afflicted; you make the souls of all productive of good and cause all virtues to blossom; you snatch souls from the devil’s jaw; you make the wretched holy, and men of earth citizens of heaven.
