When I Pray:

When I pray, send your Spirit to pray for me. Hear my songs of love, praise, honor and worship. Hear my plea for your intervention into the lives of those who need you most. And most of all, Lord, increase my faith.

God’s Protection:

In today’s Gospel, Jesus cautions us to expect rejection and even persecution if we are to live His Gospel fully. However, Jesus also assures us that we can always trust in His divine protection. Have you experienced the truth of Jesus’ message? How did you respond?

Worry is a weakness from which very few of us are entirely free. We must be on guard against this most insidious enemy of our peace of soul. Instead, let us foster confidence in God, and thank Him ahead of time for whatever He chooses to send us.

- Venerable Solanus Casey (1870-1957)

Each martyr has offered the same simple—and profound—lessons: Be not afraid. You are not alone. Your faith is your greatest treasure. Embrace it, celebrate it, live it openly. Trust in God.

—St. Anthony Messenger
