Sanctifying Grace:

When a ray of light strikes a crystal, it gives a new quality to the crystal. And when God’s infinitely disinterested love plays upon a human soul, the same kind of thing takes place. And that is the life called sanctifying grace.

Deaf and Dumb:

In today’s Gospel Jesus healed a deaf and dumb person. Do we need to be healed of any obstacles that we may be putting in God’s ways or in the lives of people who want to know and love God more. Ponder on our thoughts, words and deeds more deeply.

Humility – Faith:

The Syro-Phonecian woman in today’s Gospel taught us that if we are humble, we will receive abundant graces from God. But, if we are proud and do not feel we need the help of God and others, then we will learn the bitter truth of how frail, fallible and finite we human beings are.

We must fear God out of love, not love Him out of fear.

- Saint Francis de Sales (1567-1622)
