Generosity to God and Others:
We can be generous toward God and toward others because we know that God will be generous toward us. Let’s not pass up opportunities to reach out to others and to give of ourselves.
Serving God:
We are all called to serve in God’s Kingdom in different ways regardless of our vocations. In today’s Gospel Jesus instructed His apostles to be detached from things of the secular world if they want to serve God more fully. Do we have any such unnecessary “baggage”?

Oh what remorse we shall feel at the end of our lives, when we look back upon the great number of instructions and examples afforded by God and the Saints for our perfection, and so carelessly received by us! If this end were to come to you today, how would you be pleased with the life you have led this year?
