For Christmas All Year Round:

Lord, I know the Christmas season has come and gone, but I would like to celebrate your birth all year long—to keep the joy, to share the love,to spread goodwill and cheer. I want to stand in awe of your humanity. I long for each night to be a silent night, a holy night when each of us can go to sleep with a child’s anticipation of Christmas morning at the dawn. Oh, yes, my Lord, Christmas can occur each day if I give birth to you within my heart. Amen.

Rituals – Truth:

In today’s Gospel, Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist even though, as Son of God, He did not need it. God respects and uses symbols and rituals to communicate His Truth and graces to us e.g. the Eucharist. Are we attentive and appreciative of the rituals of our Church?

To those who wish to stand in God's grace, neither the guardianship of saints nor the defenses of angels are wanting.

- Saint Hilary of Poitiers (315-368)
