Prayer at Christmas Time:
God, we celebrate your gift of Jesus, Savior of our world; your gift of Mary, willing mother of the Redeemer; your gift of Joseph, strong protector of mother and child; your gift of shepherds, witnesses of the miracle of Christmas; your gift of angels, heralds of glad tidings; your gift of creatures great and small, acknowledging the Creator. Our hearts are full of joy and gratitude. We celebrate you!
“God First” – Faith:
Today we celebrate the feast of St Stephen, first martyr of the Church. Our love for God can be measured by the degree of willingness in putting Him before our own needs, interests and dreams. Do we serve others selflessly?

Yesterday we celebrated the birth in time of our eternal King. Today we celebrate the triumphant suffering of his soldier. Yesterday our king, clothed in his robe of flesh, left his place in the virgin's womb and graciously visited the world. Today his soldier leaves the tabernacle of his body and goes triumphantly to heaven.
- Saint Fulgentius of Ruspe (Sermon on Saint Stephen)
"Man is so preoccupied with himself, he has such urgent need of all the space and all the time for his own things, that nothing remains for others, for his neighbor, for the poor, for God......Do we have time for our neighbor who is in need of a word from us, from me, or in need of my affection? For the sufferer who is in need of help? For the fugitive or the refugee who is seeking asylum? Do we have time and space for God?"
- His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI (Homily during 2007 Christmas Midnight Mass)
