He Looked Favorably on Me:
John the Baptist—the Elijah of the New Testament—did not come to earth in a fiery chariot but as a tiny baby to elderly parents. Today, name some small ways that God is making a large difference in your life.
Fears – Faith:
In today’s Gospel, the angel assured Zechariah and asked him not to be afraid. Do you have fears that make you miserable? Are these fears related to your low self-esteem, lack of affection and the like? Ponder on your fears and offer them to the Lord. How much of your life do you dare to entrust to the Lord?

We desire to be able to welcome Jesus at Christmas time, not in a cold manger of our hearts but in a heart full of love and humility, in a heart so pure, so immaculate, so warm with love for one another.
- Blessed Teresa of Calcutta
His ways are so beautiful—to think that we have God almighty to stoop so low as to love you and me and make use of us—and make us feel that He really needs us—as I grow older my wonder at His humility grows….
