Love, Prayer and Healing:

Brother Jesus, Holy Spirit,God, Creator, I have been journeying with you for a while now, seeking to draw closer to you. I feel your presence and your guiding hand upon me. Be with me still as I continue to open myself to this process of love and prayer and healing.

“Blindness” – Faith:

In today’s Gospel, Jesus cured the blind man who pleaded for healing. Which “blind” areas in your life need healing from God? Could it be your pride, low self-esteem, lack of affection for the poor and the like? Speak to the Lord from your heart about your needs.

Our Redeemer, ever present in the most Blessed Sacrament, extends His hand to everyone. He opens His heart and says, "Come to Me, all of You."

- Saint Raphael Kalinowski (1835-1907)

It is extraordinarily interesting that Roman pilgrimage began at an early time. Pilgrims did not wait for the Peace of the Church [Constantine’s edict of toleration] before they visited the tombs of the Apostles. They went to Rome a century before there were any public churches and when the Church was confined to the tituli [private homes] and the catacombs. The two great pilgrimage sites were exactly as today—the tombs, or memorials, of St. Peter upon the Vatican Hill and the tomb of St. Paul off the Ostian Way

- H.V. Morton, This Is Rome

One must pass through solitude and dwell in it to receive God’s grace. It is there that one empties oneself, that one drives before oneself all that is not God, and that one completely empties this little house of our soul to leave room for God alone. In doing this, do not fear being unfaithful toward creatures. On the contrary, that is the only way for you to serve them effectively

- Raphael Brown, Franciscan Mystic, p. 126
