In Our Midst:
Jesus is as close to us as our everyday experiences. That is where we find him or miss him. Ah! To be a Christian! To look at the world around us with the eyes of Christ! What a wonderful world it would be!
Good Deeds for God:
In today’s Gospel, Jesus assures us that all the good deeds that we do and the way we live our Christ-like life will never be overlooked by God. Indeed, we will be “rewarded” many times over because of His infinite generosity. However, our lives should be focused on loving God and not on the “reward” that we can gain from Him.
************************************************************************************************
Those who live according to the spirit of the world are fond of pleasures and ease; but those who live according to the Spirit of God, study to purchase the kingdom of heaven by pain and tribulation.
- Saint Conon the Elder (d. 275)
