O God, who rested from your labors on the seventh day,you have given to our human family the mission of tending the beauty and dignity of all creation.You fashioned diverse peoples and races to witness the bright spectrum of your loving. Your love alone binds us as your family.

Customs and Culture:

In today’s Gospel Jesus exposed the Pharisees’ erroneous practice of their customs because they ignored the essential adherence to God’s Law of honesty, compassion and love. God wills that we observe the Laws of the Church authentically (i.e. with a sincere heart) and not the mere external compliance of the Laws.
