Reach Down, O Lord:
Jesus, Our Savior, knock down with your wounded hand at the closed doors of our hearts and call to us in the streets of life. Give us direction in the confusion and cares of this painful journey. Stay with us, O Lord, for evening comes and the shadows grow long.
“Revelation to Children”:
Jesus praises the receptivity of children to the graces and faith that His Father has given to them. In contrast, adults often put up obstacles in the way of God’s Will like pride, selfishness etc. Thus, we do not become as Christ-like as God wills of us. i.e. to be more forgiving, humble etc.

The Sermon on the Mount is not a social program per se, to be sure. But it is only when the great inspiration it gives us vitally influences our thought and our action, only when faith generates the strength to renunciation and responsibility for our neighbor and for the whole of society, only then can social justice grow.
- Pope Benedict XVI
