Thursday -- Luke 16:19-31:
If wealth is your God, then the Lord isn’t. Are you free from the bondage of wealth or do you suffer from “affluenza” (the “disease” of affluence)? Write a check to a charitable organization today. Trust that God will return it a hundredfold.
Self-Indulgent Life:
In today’s Gospel, the “rich man” lived a self-indulgent life that ignored the reality of death and the poor around him. He regrettedhis lifestyle only when he was suffering in “Hades.” All our material wealth is God’s blessings. They are not meant solely for our own use, but alsoto be shared with others.
