Surrender:

Perfection is not possible in this life, and it should not be the goal. Desire for God and surrender to God’s Spirit are the goals providing the roots for deeper union with our Creator. From a stance of utter trust, surrender and faith in God’s holy embrace, we flower and bear fruit; watered with grace, we grow with the Spirit.

Peter - First Pope:

In today’s Gospel, Jesus chose Peter to be the rockand foundation of His institutional Church. Peter was chosen even though he was imperfect. To be a good disciple of Christ, Jesus only asks for a big heart that loves Him unconditionally in spite faults and failures.

Virtue is nothing without the trial of temptation, for there is no conflict without an enemy, no victory without strife.

- Pope Saint Leo the Great (400-461)
