Shaping the Soul:
Each person has a distinctive personality that brings a rich garden of diversity and experience into their families and communities. Belief systems, the culture one lives in and one’s own unique life experiences shape and form the soul.
Deeds – Motives:
In today’s Gospel, Jesus urges us to have pure motives when we do good deeds and when we show compassion towards others, even in difficult situations. A very good practice to live in this way is to pray thus: “Lord, I thank You for the opportunity to love You more deeply today.”
**********************************************************************************************
No one will have any other desire in heaven than what God wills; and the desire of one will be the desire of all; and the desire of all and of each one will also be the desire of God.
- Saint Anslem of Canterbury (1033-1109)
The only science that gives purpose to every other science is the science of religion —the science of our happy relationship with, and our providential dependence on, God and our neighbor.
