At 12.10am this morning, the Good Lord called home Uncle Mike to eternal rest......after about 2 years of battle with lung cancer....he finally succumbed to the disease and left.....leaving behind his beloved wife, son and daughter....
His son is an altar server and my junior.....at only aged 11, he has to see his father, a role model leaving him.....while his sister, just only 8 years of age...
cries of unfairness? injustice? think again.....the Lord has eased him of his physical pain and from the pangs of sickness....and he has gone to a place where we all one day will also go....the new and eternal jerusalem....a place where milk and honey flow...a place of eternal joy...where there shall no longer be any shouts of pain, tears of sorrow or dispair...but the echos of the seraphims...archangels...choir of angels together with the saints...feasting and enjoying in the heavenly banquet...
where God has called to him...no sickness..disease can torture....
death is something that we cannot escape...one day...our own time will come ..and we will have to leave behind everything...our loved ones..our riches and etc...and return back to the Father...what is important then..if how one has lived his/her life....and please...do not be complacent...death does not come to one only after a ripe old age...hence..cherish life...live it to the fullest....and leave no regrets...
God who is ever full of compassion, merciful and loving...did not leave this family alone....they have us...the family united by Jesus himself as the head..and we the church as his body....in this moment of trial...we shall be with them....and we shall also journey with them in the days to come....they will never walk alone.....now this is God's way of saying..."I love you all my children"....
May the love of God..which is beyond human comprehension and understanding..be with us all..bless us and keep us....
Holy Mary Mother of God...on the Solemnity of your Most Immaculate Heart....Uncle Mike has gone home....pray for us..keep us your children in your care and protection....
I am the resurrection and the life...no man can come to the Father except through me.... ~ Jesus Christ
till we meet again in the heavenly banquet uncle mike..pray for us...as we will also pray for you....may you and the other souls of the faithful departed rest in peace...
Farewell then.....a good man, a loved husband...a loved father....a commando....a ranger.......................................a precious child of God........................................
