Wednesday -- John 5:17-30:
Jesus speaks of his relationship to the Father. If children are not close at hand, go to a public place where you can briefly watch a parent and child interact (for example, a park, a grocery store, a mall). Prayerfully reflect how your relationship with God compares.
God’s Passion:
Jesus, in today’s Gospel says, “My Father still goes on working.” Spend some moments today to ponder on how God the Father has a passionate Love for us, through His Spirit. Recognise our inattentiveness to this Spirit’s presence and Love. Thank God for loving us so passionately.

The mind is purified by spiritual knowledge (holy meditation and prayer), the spiritual passions of the soul by charity, and the irregular appetites by abstinence and penance.
