Retreats:

Retreats are a good thing. It’s good to get away from it all, to find some quiet time, to seek God, ourselves and the truth of things. We need that time away from the demands and distractions of our daily routine, so we can get into that space where we can just be, reflect and contemplate. If we never make a retreat, we may never find our center.

To withdraw into the desert is for Christians tantamount to associating themselves more intimately with Christ's passion, and it enables them, in a very special way, to share in the paschal mystery and in the passage of Our Lord from this world to the heavenly homeland.

- Pope Paul VI ("Instruction on the Contemplative Life", #1)

Prayer is the mortar that holds our house together

- Mother Teresa
