What does it avail to know that there is a God, which you not only believe by faith, but also know by reason: What does it avail that you know Him if you think little of Him?

- St. Thomas More (1478-1535)

Suffering and Salvation:

Life is not fair. Jesus said as much, and we have his crucifixion as the prime example. Our Christian faith teaches that through injustice, salvation was made possible. The Savior’s death on the cross teaches us that only through personal indignities suffered patiently do we grow into the image of Jesus and merit the eternal kingdom of justice.

Faith:

Our faith in God must be more than just calling Him, “Lord, Lord.” Our life confirms or gives evidence concretely of the depth of our faith in God or our lack of it. If we habitually feel satisfied to fulfil only the “minimum” practice of our faith e.g. attending Sunday Masses, then our faith is not deep.
