Enduring Lessons:
One of the most important lessons of life is about death. Like the wooden hoop around an embroidery project, our allotted number of years provides the frame of life. Death puts our pilgrimage on this earth into perspective, makes it measurable, comprehensible, even endurable.
Personal Prayer Life:
In today’s Gospel, Jesus goes off into the hills to pray by Himself. If we seriously set aside time, space and attention to nurture our prayer life e.g. 30 minutes every night just to be with the Lord, our lives will be totally transformed. We will then be deepening our personal relationship with the Lord.

Faith is easy when we meet with no difficulty and walk in a way of light and consolation. But when we are struggling with temptation, with suffering and trial, when we are in a dryness of heart and spiritual darkness, then it needs a strong faith to abandon ourselves to God and remain entirely united to his holy will.
- Blessed Columba Marmion (1858-1923)
