Traces of Jesus:

Since Jesus has gone to heaven, I can follow him only by the traces he has left. But how radiant and how fragrant these traces are! I have only to glance at the holy gospels and at once I breathe the fragrance of his life.

Jesus the Bread of Life:

How often do we prepare our hearts fervently to receive Jesus and thank Him for being with us after we have received Him at each Eucharist? In today’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that He is the Bread that gives us eternal life. Let us pray for the grace to value Jesus more fully in each Eucharist.

Woe to me if I should prove myself but a half-hearted soldier in the service of my thorn-crowned Captain.

- Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen (1577-1622)

"Action on behalf of justice and participation in the transformation of the world fully appear to us as a constitutive dimension of the preaching of the Gospel, or, in other words, of the Church's mission for the redemption of the human race and its liberation from every oppressive situation"

- Justice in the World," Synod of Bishops, 1971.
