Easter Vigil - Love It to Death:
Jesus is our guarantee of God’s promise. What happened in his body is the pattern of what must happen in all of the cosmos. We are optimistic because we look at him and see the final pattern: It worked; the leap of faith was not in vain.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today, you, the Risen One, wish to meet us in every corner of the earth, just as yesterday you met the Apostles in Galilee. By virtue of this encounter we too can repeat: "Yes, we are certain: Christ is truly risen. Oh victorious King, bring us your salvation."
- John Paul the Great (Easter Vigil 1998)
