Inherit the Earth:

Scripture says that the meek will inherit the earth. Such a promise strikes our ears as rather grandiose, like hyperbole or grand overstatement. It obviously does not mean the earth in which we live; it means the heavenly world. Our reward for meekness involves spiritual realms, blessings that will last forever.

Faith – Ordinary:

God is present in the ordinariness of our daily living. Thus, when you relate to your spouse, mother, children, stranger, you are also relating to God as He is present in all of them. Our love for God will grow deeper if we become more conscious of living this truth daily.

Worse Than No Christianity:

Discipleship means complete dedication. It demands everything - the whole heart, the whole mind, and the whole of life, including one's time, energy, and property - for the cause of love. Half-hearted Christianity is worse than no Christianity.

====================================================

We should reflect on Mary Magdalene's attitude and the great love she felt for Christ; for though the disciples had left the tomb, she remained. She was still seeking the one she had not found, and while she sought she wept; burning with the fire of love, she longed for him who she thought had been taken away. And so it happened that the woman who stayed behind to seek Christ was the only one to see him. For perseverance is essential to any good deed, as the voice of truth tell us: "Whoever perseveres to the end will be saved.

- Pope St. Gregory the Great (from an Easter Homily reflecting on Mary Magdalene)
