My Day....
Woke at to the nice and calm tune of my handphone alarm...it was playing the theme song from the movie "Forest Gump"......really a very nice tune...it can send one into thinking land and spurr out all your thoughts.....placed it as my blog song for now..hope it can lead you guys into some nices thoughts.. =)
It always good to close your eyes and reflect upong your life once in a while...I guess..it can help us relive some nice memories...archive the unhappy ones...and get ourselves reorgainsed again..feeling better and refreshed...but then...dont forget to continue reading my blog of that la! haha...
kinda dragged myself out of bed today.....dont know why....didnt feel like waking up today actually.....wasnt in the best of moods.....i guess am troubled by some matters....nevertheless...the Lord's calling had a greater effect..haha....woke up and went to church...
Served the 9am and 1030am mass......during the mass....many thoughts ran through my head...not to say that i wasnt paying attention...but then....i would say..its one of the effects which mass can give you ...and that is to help you refect on your life or certain issues....today's topic was on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. Its basically about Jesus being baptised in the river Jordan by John the Baptist....more details can be found in one of my posts... =)
The discussion about this feast day during the masses actually reminded me of my baptism....what was expected of it and etc. Whether we are infant baptised..or baptised later on in life, we are received into God's family for nothing.....not to say that we have to pay for it or what...but through the gift of being able to be called God's children....we are duty bound to let by our baptismal values....to spread the good news....to live a christian life under the influence and guidance of God...we must always bear in mind that we belong to God....and He is always there for us....but how many a times...especially in today's world...have we forgotten him....let alone the simple values that we are called to live by....its not as if now we are asked to be Saints ...or sinless people.....
Well.....after church...went for lunch with the guys and then had a meeting....many issues were raised and ironed...shall not go into details here....its kinda happy to see that the younger servers are learning and preparing to take over the helm....I pray that God will be with them and keep them faithful and steadfast so that one day..they can take over the Altar Servers and continue serving him....I have been a server for almost 12 years....have seen many of them grow up before my eyes....well....we cant be holding on forever....we have to teach and motivate and guide the next generation...its the cycle of life I guess....
However, a personal observation made was that some of the younger guys were actually very happy that the older guys like me...are not holding any more positions and are appearing to be silent in the Ministry....as if we have no say....oh well.....my advise can only be this....we may appear silent..but that doesnt mean we are not doing anything...there are many things which are done...which are unknown to many people....i guess...theres just not a need to "advertise" about it.....in addition...if one think that they can just cast the older guys aside, hack care them and worse still...show them disrespect....well.....you're wrong..haha....
no matter what....we are always more experience than you...thats a fact....you are only given a chance to play a more proactive role...not to abuse it....respect would be the keyword at the end of the day.... just as we showed you the respect by the basis that we gave you the chance to be proactive..."one who shows respect for his seniors will in turn earn the respect of his peers" sounds old fashioned? Ah well....I was brought up and trained during my younger days as a server based on that principle and I find it meaningful and applicable....be it to seniors..your parents..or elders....besides....it is something that is also taught by God... :)
I am not trying to hint at anyone or targetting anyone...hope no offence is taken...just airing out my observation/views...at the end of the day..everyone has a role to play..and I pray that everyone will do it well.....in the end..we are all working for the Glory of GOD!!
After meeting....few of us went down to Ikea to get some stuffs...its a new year...so new things must come in..haha...nice excuse to spend $$... =p Jeremy, Aloysius, Michael, Clement, Eugene , Terence and myself formed the excursion party...had quite alot of fun shopping together...bought some stuffs for a new servers notice board...
After that....took bus 198 home and each of us went our seperate ways...back to our own families....it was a nice day for me....I've enjoyed their company....hope they had fun too... =)

"Like the elephant, we are unconscious of our own strength. When it comes to understanding the power we have to make a difference in our own lives, we might as well be asleep. If you want to make your dreams come true, wake up. Wake up to your own strength. Wake up to the role you play in your own destiny. Wake up to the power you have to choose what you think, do, and say."
"Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling five balls in the air. You name them - work, family, health, friends, and spirit - and you're keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends, and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged, or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life."
