Joy and Humility:

Being present, humble, listening, seeking and making the time to sit in silence and wonder at the stillness in the air are part of our call as Christians. We must never lose the childlike zeal of wonder, for in wonder lies joy and humility

Fidelity of Faith:

In today's Gospel, Jesus wants to assure us that while the demands and sacrifices of our faith may be painful now, His reward will be infinitely greater and this will last for all eternity. Pray for the grace of fidelity and perseverance in the daily living of our faith especially when we are tempted to give up.

God whispers to us in our pleasures, he speaks to us in our conscience, and he shouts to us in our pain. Pain is God's megaphone. And unlike the ripples that are made in a pond, the ripple of pain, instead of going out to distant shores, narrow and narrow and comes to a central point where there is less of the outside of the circle and more of the center. Not the ego, but the real person and the real self. And one begins to find oneself alone with God. That is what happens in pain.
